About Tattle Taler

Purpose

The purpose of Tattle Taler is help create more trust between a seller and buyer engaging in a sale or trade online. We feel one of the best ways to achieve this is to build up a good history of selling and buying with input from others commenting on their experience with the person. Sites like eBay have their own feedback system to achieve this but is specific to just sales that happen there. We wonder, why limit yourself to one place?

What it is

Tattle Taler is a general feedback system for users who buy, sell, and trade often online. What does this mean?

Well for one thing, Tattle Taler is not domain specific. A sale can take place anywhere (online, offline, wherever) and feedback for that sale can be left here. If you have a feedback profile elsewhere (eBay, Etsy, Den of Angels, etc), you can link to it and the link will show up on your profile along with your Tattle Taler feedback. This way all your feedback can be located in one spot on the internet. A person does not have to be registered with Tattle Taler to view your profile but an account will be needed by both parties in order to leave any feedback.

How it Works

It order to start leaving feedback all you have to do is register an account. Once you have a sale going somewhere, lets say a forum, all you do is start a transaction on Tattle Taler and fill out the fields (where its taking place, the other user, the item being sold) and click submit. The other member of the transaction must have a Tattle Taler account also.

Once your sale is completed you can go and view your transactions and find the one corresponding to the completed sale and leave your feedback for the other user. The other user will also be able to leave their feedback for you.

All feedback left for you is shown on your Tattle Taler profile. This profile is made public so that others can see how good your feedback is without having to register an account.

The Motivation Behind Tattle Taler

The idea for Tattle Taler came from a simple need. I had made many sales in forumed based communities like This is Blythe and Plastic Paradise (now called Blythe Kingdom). However, because these are forums there is no real way to track feedback.

It frustrated me that I had no real way to show that my past sales went smoothly and that I was a reliable seller. It frustrated me as well when I was buying something from another member and couldn't judge how reliable of a seller they were. So I thought, "Hey, why not create a site that'll fix this problem?"

Because Tattle Taler is connected to no particular site or organization, a user can take their feedback anywhere. They can enter a new community, start selling, and show their buyers how great of a seller they are hassle free, using just one simple link.
